this was painted from a photograph i took. i haven't done any painting 'plein aire' either.
the way my brain works doesn't suit landscapes well lol! i typically like one strong object (think still life or figures) to focus on when drawing or painting. landscapes don't have that. the focal point is often more abstract. if i can get my head around that, i'd be more comfortable with landscapes lol!
the other catch is that i'm partially red/green color blind, so i also have to find ways to deal with those colors, which are often predominant in a landscape.
